Whether you’ve been court ordered to participate in the SCRAMx Program or are doing so voluntarily, here’s how to start the process:
- Locate a SCRAMx provider – Typically, courts and agencies have a specific authorized SCRAMx Service Provider they work with in their local area. If the court did not provide you with provider contact information, use AMS’ locate a provider inquiry form and a SCRAMx representative will email you information on your assigned provider.
- Set an installation appointment – Promptly call your authorized provider to set an appointment for your SCRAMx installation. Prior to the appointment, please make sure you have an analog phone line (or land line – not a cell phone) and electricity service installed at your home.
- Installation – Please allow 30 to 45 minutes for your SCRAMx installation. Bring copies of your court paperwork and photo identification to your appointment. You will be fitted with a SCRAMx bracelet, and will also receive a base station to install in your home. Your assigned agent will show you the Participant Agreement Video, which will go over the SCRAMx Program and your responsibilities while on the device.
- Sign the participant agreement – You will be required to sign and comply with a participant agreement while wearing the SCRAMx bracelet. Please read through the entire agreement, sign it, and you are ready to go.
