Jefferson County Court One of Six in the Country Selected for NHTSA Alcohol Anklet Case Study
The 23rd Judicial Circuit of Missouri is one of six programs in the country selected by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to study the impact of SCRAM alcohol monitoring anklets on offender programs and communities. The study will focus on evaluating best-practice programs in an effort to assist other agencies looking to adopt the technology.

NHTSA Selects Stenehjem’s 24/7 Sobriety Program for Nationwide SCRAM Study
AG’s Program One of Six in U.S. Selected for Best-Practice. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has selected North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem’s 24/7 Sobriety Program as part of a nationwide study to evaluate the prevalence and impact of SCRAM continuous alcohol anklets.
Judges in Missoula and surrounding counties are some of the first in the country to implement a new electronic monitoring program that combines home detention (or “house arrest”) and 24/7 alcohol monitoring in one anklet. The program, known as SCRAMx, is said to be cutting incarceration costs as well as giving judges more options for keeping tabs on repeat offenders in both Montana’s urban and rural areas.

Winnebago County Awards Transdermal Alcohol Monitoring Contract to SCRAMx
Winnebago County, Wisconsin, has awarded a multi-year alcohol monitoring contract to SCRAMx alcohol monitoring anklets and its Wisconsin-based service provider, Midwest Monitoring and Surveillance.

NHTSA Studies Impact of SCRAM Alcohol Anklets: Agency compiling SCRAM Program case studies to assist other agencies
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has commissioned and launched an 18-month study focused on evaluating the current prevalence of SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) technology in the nation’s courts. The new study includes the identification of best-practice SCRAM Programs and the development of case studies to help other agencies considering use of the technology.
